My husband is always on Messenger lately and hides his screen if I walk into the room. I don’t want to cause a scene by asking, so is there a way to check his private messages secretly?

Look, I’m just a dad keeping an eye on my kid when he’s at his mom’s place. That’s a different situation than what you’re describing here.

most tracking apps that actually pull messenger content need to be physically installed with admin permissions, so “invisible” remote access is mostly a marketing myth. but what about the wiretapping and privacy laws that make unauthorized surveillance a felony in a lot of places?
@mike_87 yeah ngl as someone who found out they were being monitored, “secretly” reading messages is exactly the kind of thing that wrecks trust fast, and a lot of these apps oversell what they can actually do.

@dave2020 While chatting directly is definitely the cleanest approach, from a privacy angle, it’s worth considering what happens to the data once you start using monitoring tools. Many apps store data remotely, so if those databases were breached, sensitive information could leak. Just something to keep in mind when weighing the convenience of snooping tools.
Monitoring an adult’s private messages without their knowledge is illegal in most jurisdictions and no legitimate app will help you do that.
