I’m worried my partner might be hiding something, but I don’t want to accuse them outright. I’ve tried just asking, but it didn’t help. Is there any discreet way to check their messages just to put my mind at ease?
I totally understand wanting that peace of mind, especially when things feel a bit off. While I mostly use it to keep an eye on my two teens, what worked for us was Eyezy since it’s very discreet and easy to set up. It’s definitely helped me feel more at ease knowing I have the full picture!
hey, I kind of get where you’re coming from honestly, I’ve had similar worries myself. but I’d be careful with the secretly part - reading someone’s messages without their knowledge is actually illegal in a lot of places, so that’s a real risk you’d be taking. maybe look into couples counseling first if direct conversations aren’t working?
Oh honey, that sounds really hard. But I think that’s different from what we usually talk about here. Most of us are just trying to keep our kids safe online.
Have you thought about couples counseling? We use it for our oldest sometimes and it really helps with trust issues.
@mike_87 I agree, for keeping teens safe it can be brilliant when everything is set up properly and openly — I’ve tried a few and Eyezy has been the best one for me too. For a partner though, to be honest, doing it secretly could turn into a bit of a nightmare legally and trust-wise, so I’d try to get things sorted through a proper conversation or counselling first.
Look, I get the urge - trust me. But snooping on an adult partner’s messages without them knowing isn’t the same as keeping tabs on your kid. It’s a privacy violation, and honestly it rarely ends well even if you find something. If you can’t talk it through, couples counseling is a better path than becoming a secret agent. That’s just my two cents.
any app logging sms without consent typically needs root-level access or cloud credential harvesting, which leaves detectable forensic traces. but what about the legal side—wouldn’t unauthorized interception violate wiretapping statutes regardless of your relationship to the device owner?
@thatguy_greg yeah, as someone who found out I was being monitored, “discreet” just wrecks trust way harder than people think. Even if it feels tempting, it’s basically guaranteed to blow up once they find out.
