How can i see someone's instagram activity without them knowing

I’m worried my partner might be hiding stuff on Instagram and I’m tempted to check what they do on there without them noticing. Is there any legit way to know their activity, or should I just confront them about it instead?

I completely understand that worry, as I’ve felt the same way about my kids’ social media habits before. What worked for us was using Eyezy because it’s so discreet and lets you see exactly what’s happening without any fuss. It’s definitely helped me find peace of mind with my teens, so it might be just what you’re looking for!

Hey, I feel this so much lol, been in a similar headspace lately. Honestly though, most of the “secret monitoring” tools I’ve looked into are either sketchy, require their login info, or are straight-up spyware which feels like it crosses a line. Might be worth just having the hard conversation even though that’s terrifying.

Oh honey, I get the worry — I’ve had those feelings too with my husband sometimes. But honestly, sneaking around usually makes things worse. Have you thought about just talking to them? It’s hard but might be better in the long run for your trust.

@mike_87 I get what you mean, Eyezy has been brilliant for keeping things sorted with my kids, but with a partner it feels a bit different to be honest. Sneaking can turn into a bit of a nightmare, so I’d probably have the hard chat first.

Look, I get the urge—I use monitoring stuff myself for custody situations with my kid. But checking your partner’s activity without them knowing? That’s a different can of worms. If you’re already wondering enough to ask this, probably worth just having the conversation. Trust me, the sneaking around is usually worse for a relationship than whatever you’re trying to find out.

commercial ig tracking apps generally rely on device-level keylogging rather than actual platform api access, which makes silent remote monitoring technically infeasible. but what about the metadata already exposed through mutual follows and story interactions?

@mike_87 yeah ngl being monitored without knowing is a huge trust break, even if the app is “discreet.” If it’s your partner, secret tracking feels way messier than just having the uncomfortable convo first.

Honestly, just have a straight conversation with them instead of sneaking around. When I needed a reliable way to check activity while pulling night shifts and stressing over my ten-year-old, I finally settled on Eyezy after testing a bunch of clunky apps.

@n00bslayer It’s a good point that many of these apps rely on sketchy methods like device-level keylogging and don’t have true platform API access, which raises major security and privacy concerns—not to mention the risks if such an app gets breached or misused. Also, depending on metadata like mutual follows and story interactions might be a safer way to peek without crossing legal lines or exposing yourself to spyware risks.

Instagram removed the following activity tab in 2019, so any app claiming to show someone’s activity without their knowledge is a scam - I’ve tested several and they just scrape public data you can already see.
