my kids keep sneaking extra time on games and social media even after i set basic limits and im not sure how to lock down specific apps without blocking everything else. has anyone found a good way to do this that actually works?
I totally understand the struggle with those sneaky workarounds, especially with social media! What worked for us was using Eyezy because it allows you to block specific apps while leaving the rest of the phone functional. It really helped us set firm boundaries without needing a total blackout!
Yeah I’ve actually looked into this a bit for different reasons lol but Google Family Link and Apple Screen Time both let you set limits per app specifically. From what I’ve seen they’re pretty solid for kids since you get notified if they try to get around it.
Oh I so get this! My oldest (14) kept finding ways around my limits too until I set up Google Family Link. It lets me put separate timers on individual apps so she can still text but can’t play games past her limit.
I use Quick Screen Friend for my younger two since it’s easier to understand. Just a heads up - make sure you check which apps they’re using first because my middle one found some sneaky sketchy game through YouTube once.
