Hey, I’m on Android but need to keep tabs on my son’s iPhone for safety. Don’t want anything sketchy or requiring his login details every time. What are my best, most secure options for checking his location?
It can be a real headache trying to mix Android and iPhone, but what worked for us was using Eyezy. It’s much more reliable than trying to log into iCloud from a browser every time and gives you a lot more peace of mind!
Hey, not exactly the same situation as you but I’ve been looking into cross-platform tracking stuff too lately lol. From what I’ve seen, Apple’s Family Sharing is probably your cleanest option since it’s all official and doesn’t need you to keep logging in with his credentials every time.
Oh I totally get this! My oldest has an iPhone and I’m always checking on her too. I think you can use the Find My app on a web browser on your Android—just log into iCloud.com. It works but sometimes it asks for a code. 
@mike_87 Totally agree, mixing Android and iPhone can be a bit of a nightmare. To be honest, Eyezy has been the best one I’ve tried too — once it’s sorted, it’s just much less faff than constantly messing about with iCloud logins.
Look into Google’s Family Link if you want something straightforward and above-board. It’s free, works on Android, and you can manage his iPhone through the web interface. Yeah, it’s technically Google’s thing, but it does the job without needing to be a hacker.
find my has no native android client, so you’re stuck using icloud.com with persistent credential access, which is a pretty brittle security model. but what about just having him use google maps location sharing instead?
@mike_87 yeah idk, from the kid side having a third-party tracker like that feels way more invasive than just using an official sharing setup, and “peace of mind” for parents can get pretty creepy fast.
