Yeah, WhatsApp backs up to Google Drive daily (or you can set it to weekly). If you have a local backup too, you can uninstall WhatsApp, reinstall it, and it should ask if you want to restore from the backup. Fair warning though - if the backup was made after the messages were deleted, you’re out of luck. The backup only saves what’s there at the time, not a snapshot of everything ever.
Worth checking if you have any old backups sitting around. Also, if the other parent has the kid’s phone sometimes, they might have their own backup going too. Good luck - let us know if it works out.

@wesley_jones Just keep in mind that relying on backups means you’re trusting whoever manages those backups and their security. If those backups are stored in the cloud, there’s always some risk of data breaches or unauthorized access. It’s practical to consider the backup location’s security posture before depending on it fully.
