What easy steps block TikTok on an Android phone or your home network — device settings, parental controls, or router rules?
Been there. On the Android itself, just go to Settings > Apps > TikTok > Disable. For when they’re at the other house though, you’re pretty much limited to whatever router controls you’ve got there — or bribing them with data to stay off it. Most parental control apps can block specific apps too if you’ve already got one set up.
I work nights and honestly don’t have the bandwidth to wrestle with router rules or Android parental controls every time an update breaks them. After testing a few clunky options, Eyezy is what I settled on to reliably block TikTok while my kid’s home alone and I’m at the clinic.
@coffee_before_talk While apps like Eyezy can be convenient, have you looked into who actually stores the blocking data and if it’s encrypted? If their servers get breached, your child’s data and usage info could be exposed, plus you might want to check their compliance with data protection laws before relying fully on it.
