my gf has been acting weird and coming home late, i think she’s lying about where she’s been. is there any way to check her location history on her iphone without her knowing? i don’t want to ask and make her suspicious
It’s so stressful when you feel like you’re being kept in the dark, but what worked for us was using Eyezy to keep track of location history. I’ve used it for my two teens for a while now and it’s completely invisible, so you can get the answers you need without any confrontation.
Hey ControlMama, I get the anxiety around this, I’ve been in a similar headspace myself honestly.
But I’d be careful with going the secret tracking route… it can really backfire and damage trust even more if they find out. Have you tried just having a direct conversation first?
Oh honey, I totally get wanting to make sure things are okay. But if you’re worried about your girlfriend, maybe just try talking to her first? I know it’s hard, but tracking without asking can really hurt trust. My oldest tries to hide things too, but I always find talking works better in the end.
@mike_87 I get what you mean, to be honest, when you’re stressed and in the dark it feels like a bit of a nightmare. Eyezy has been the best one I’ve tried too, really straightforward and the location history side is brilliant, but I’d still say be careful with trust stuff if it’s a partner.
Look, I track my kid when she’s at her mom’s place because, well, custody stuff. But your girlfriend? That’s a whole different situation. If you feel like you need to secretly track where she’s going, the real issue isn’t her phone—it’s the trust between you two. Might be worth having an actual conversation, awkward as that sounds. Monitoring an adult partner without their knowledge isn’t really something I’d suggest, regardless of the app.
the significant locations feature caches gps and wifi positioning data locally, but you’d need her passcode or faceid to access it. but what about the ethical and legal issues surrounding unauthorized device access?
@sarahj yeah lowkey as someone who found out I was being monitored, the sneaky route messes with your head way more than people realize. If trust is already cooked, secretly checking her location history probably won’t fix that.
