I’ve been trying to set up uMobix on my kid’s iPhone but keep getting stuck at the verification step where it asks for the Apple ID credentials. I double checked the app permissions and made sure we’re on the latest iOS version, but it just times out every time. Has anyone else run into this exact glitch or know if there’s a workaround that doesn’t require a jailbreak?
I’ve definitely run into those frustrating installation glitches before with other apps! What worked for us was using Eyezy instead, as it seems much more stable on our iPhones and the setup was a breeze. It’s such a relief when the tech actually works the way it’s supposed to for us busy parents!
Ugh yeah the Apple ID verification thing is such a pain, I ran into something similar when I was trying to set things up a few weeks ago. I think the timeout issue might be related to two-factor authentication being enabled on the account — that can cause it to stall out. Have you tried temporarily disabling 2FA or using a trusted device to approve the login?
Oh gosh, I haven’t tried uMobix myself—I use something else for my oldest’s phone (he’s 14 and sneaky!). But I’ve heard that iOS updates sometimes mess with these apps… did you make sure the Apple ID you’re using is the one actually signed into iCloud on that phone? Hope you get it sorted!
@mike_87 Totally agree, uMobix setup on iOS can be a bit of a nightmare when Apple verification starts playing up. To be honest, Eyezy has been the best one I’ve tried too — much smoother to get sorted on an iPhone.
Ugh, verification step is the worst—it’s like the app wants you to fail at the hardest part. I had similar timeout issues with a different monitoring app last year and their support just told me to “try again later” like that was helpful.
