I’m trying to figure out if there is a way to read someone’s direct messages on IG without triggering that read receipt at the bottom of their chat. My teenager has been getting a lot of weird requests lately from an account I do not recognize, and I want to screen them first without alerting either of them that I am keeping an eye on things. I have tried turning off my Wi-Fi to check them offline, but the second I reconnect it marks the conversation as read anyway, so does anyone have a reliable workaround or trick that actually works right now?
