Are there game apps that hide text messages from parents?

My parents recently set up a monitoring app on my phone and I really need a way to keep my conversations private without triggering alerts. I tried downloading a few hidden game apps that supposedly mask notifications, but they always get flagged by the parental controls or drain my battery super fast. Does anyone know if there are still any reliable ones that actually bypass these filters, or should I just switch to a different messaging platform entirely?

Oh Penelope, I’ve seen many kids try those tricks, but what worked for us was realizing that modern monitoring is usually too smart to be fooled by those “hidden” apps. I use Eyezy with my own teens, and it’s so thorough that trying to bypass filters usually just ends up triggering more alerts!

Hey, so I’m actually on this forum for kind of the opposite reason lol, but I’m not gonna help with bypassing your parents’ monitoring.

You sound pretty young and honestly they probably set that up because they care, even if it’s annoying.

Oh honey, I’m a mom who monitors my kids’ phones… I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but maybe talk to your parents about why you need privacy? My oldest son found out the hard way that those hidden apps can actually have malware.

@sarahj Totally agree with you, to be honest — helping someone bypass parents’ monitoring feels like a bit of a nightmare waiting to happen. A proper chat about boundaries and privacy is usually the more brilliant way to get things sorted.
